Tabata: Alternating work and rest intervals for a set number of rounds. Classic is 20 sec work / 10 sec rest × 8 rounds.
EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute): Complete a set of movements at the start of every interval. Configure the interval length and total duration.
AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible): Work continuously for a fixed duration. Tap "Add Round" each time you complete a full round.
For Time: Race against a time cap. Count up or count down — finish your workout before the clock runs out.
MIX: Build a fully custom sequence of Work, Rest, and Prepare segments, repeated for multiple rounds.
How do I pause a timer? Enable "Pause Button" in Settings → Timer. A pause button will appear in the controls during active work or rest phases.
How do I skip a rest period? Enable "Skip Rest Button" in Settings → Timer. The skip button appears automatically during rest phases.
Can I change the countdown before the workout starts? Yes — go to Settings → Timer → Start Countdown. You can set it from 0 (instant start) to 10 seconds.
What is Interval Countdown? When enabled, HybridTimer plays a beep and haptic in the final seconds of each interval so you know it's about to end. Configure the duration in Settings → Timer → Countdown Duration.
Where is my data stored? All history, presets, and settings are stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.
How do I save a custom workout? On any timer screen, tap the settings icon (top right) to configure your workout, then save it as a preset.
HybridTimer supports Live Activities — your timer appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while running. This works automatically on supported devices running iOS 26 or later.
